Release Notes - 2024.10.16

Welcome to the latest One Model product release update. This article provides an overview of the  product innovations and improvements to be delivered on 16 October 2024.

One Model Glow Up - Branding and UI Enhancements

  • Exciting news as we have expanded our branding capabilities, enabling Admins to further customize and modernize their One Model instances. Transform your user experience with the following enhancements:
    • Vibrant Gradients: Add dynamic color gradients to bring your branding to life, creating a more engaging and visually appealing interface.
    • Opacity Control: Introduce subtle transparency to elements, giving your UI a sleek, modern look.
    • Rounded Buttons: The application has been updated with a more polished, contemporary design using rounded buttons as the new standard.
    • You will also notice a new Home button that replaces the need to click on the logo to get back to the homepage. This provides a simpler, more intuitive user experience.

These features offer a refreshed, modernized appearance, enhancing overall engagement and aligning with your brand identity. Check the updated Branding User Guide for full details, and if you’re looking for some design inspiration, we created this collection of design recipes just for you. (ref 20571)

  • To support the branding updates and extend flexibility, we have introduced a number of settings.  These new settings can be found under Admin> Branding> Main Colors, Logo and UI Style;
    • Navigation Bar Icon Button Colors
    • Navigation Bar Logo
    • Top Deco Bar
    • Slide Down Panel
    • Storyboard Filter Bar
    • Storyboard Page Tabs
    • Chart and Table Backgrounds

The new settings should automatically reflect your company's existing branding settings; however, we recommend reviewing these components to ensure they align with your branding preferences. (ref 20569)

Visualization Settings - Define | Design | Discover | Describe

  • We have moved things around to improve the Storyboard editing experience with the unified visualization settings panel - Define, Design, Discover, Describe. Instead of going into different panels to access different functions, you can now edit query definitions, change design elements, adjust One AI discover insights and add annotations all from the Settings icon in your Storyboard tiles as we merged Tile Settings with the Define icon in Storyboard Modify Mode. User Experience Improvements

  • Paginated tables (list reports) will now show the total number of pages and items per page so you will know how much data is being reported at a glance without having to drillthrough. (ref 21514, 21584)

  • We resolved an issue where Table Totals were being double-counted when using the Expand and Collapse feature. The calculation inconsistency for Auto Sub Totals has been corrected, and this calculation will now be performed on all values, consistent with other total calculations. As noted in the configuration help text, if you do not obtain the valid result for Auto Totals or Auto Subtotals, please use Custom Totals. The Table Totals feature is now Generally Available (GA) with all the features;
    • Auto Totals
    • Auto Sub-Totals, and
    • Custom Totals
      (ref 20932, 21066)

One AI

  • One AI Assistant gets a fresh new user experience in this release with a persistent prompt in the header and a slide-down panel that can be opened or closed at any time. Users can now gain on-the-spot insights and assistance from anywhere in their One Model instance. For more details on capabilities, permissions, and how to enable this feature, refer to the One AI Assistant Guide. (ref 20732) Watch the promo video on LinkedIn

  • Admins with the One AI Assistant enabled can now change the example “Quick Start” prompts shown in their One AI Assistant by going into Admin > One AI Configuration > Example Prompts Configuration. These changes will apply for all users. The ability to add custom images next to each prompt will be added in an upcoming release. (ref 3244)

  • The query definition section of One AI Assistant can now be collapsed and expanded. (ref 20656)

Minor Improvements & Bugs Squashed

  • We fixed an issue where some Data Load files could error because of a Database Connection issue. (ref 20490)
  • We have deprecated the permission CanFilterDashboard as this is able to be controlled when Sharing Storyboards (ref 20820, 21527)
  • We have fixed a bug where annotations were not retaining their position while editing. (ref 21482)
  • We fixed an issue where sorting (ascending/descending) on metrics in Storyboard tiles were not retained after a page refresh. This fix applies to several chart configurations, including single and multiple metric charts, with and without pivot dimensions. Sorting changes made in settings will now persist after saving and reloading the page. (ref 20800)
  • We fixed a corner case issue observed when users switched from chart types in the Define panel that supported both chart and table views to a chart type that only supported one view (e.g., List Table). In this scenario, the preview did not render in the Define panel, even though it was correctly inserted into the Storyboard. (ref 21288)
  • We fixed an issue where the "No data was returned for the query" message was missing on the table tab, resulting in a blank result. This issue has been resolved, and the correct message will now display when appropriate. (ref 21393)
  • Some users faced a 403 Forbidden error when navigating to Explore from a Storyboard tile with a large set of filters (e.g. >85 filters) which resulted in an exceedingly long URL (>2040 characters) that was unable to be processed due to limits enforced by AWS. While the underlying issue remains under discussion for a longer-term solution, we have implemented improved error handling. Now, instead of being redirected to the Explore page and encountering the error, users will see a popup message: "Unable to navigate to explore page as the url query exceeds the maximum limit of 2040 characters. Please reduce the number of storyboard filters applied and try again." (ref 20678)
  • We adjusted the forecast behavior across One AI Assistant and Define to ensure forecasts are only displayed on charts that meet the forecasting requirements e.g. at least four data points are required to display a forecast. A warning message will inform users if the criteria is not met "This chart does not meet the requirements for forecasting.” (ref 21473)
  • We fixed an issue on the Home Page where the "Leave site?" pop-up would appear even after saving changes to the Home Page template. Now, after saving, users will no longer see the pop-up when navigating away. (ref 21504)
