Insight Library Article

The Insight Library is a central repository where One Model users can save and manage insights created through our various data exploration tools. As a personalized collection of content, it allows you to save and reuse complex queries instead of reconfiguring them from scratch, ensuring consistency across your analysis.

By accessing the Global Insight Library directly from the navigation bar, you can significantly accelerate your reporting workflow. This streamlined access allows you to quickly browse your saved insights and generate new Storyboards in seconds.

Saving Insights

You can capture and save your queries and data visualizations to the Insight Library from four primary locations across the platform:

  • Explore Charts & Tables: Within a query, click the Pin icon and select Save to Insight Library.

  • Explore Org Charts: Open the Action Menu (three dots) on your chart and select Save to Insight Library.

  • Storyboards: Hover over any existing tile, open the Tile Action Menu, and choose Save to Insight Library.

  • One AI Assistant: After generating a result with the assistant, select Pin Results To and choose Insight Library.

By saving insights from these different sources into one central repository, you create a 'building block' library. This allows you to quickly retrieve favorite visualizations, reuse existing data across different sessions, or combine multiple queries and AI-generated visualizations into a cohesive Storyboard.

Accessing the Insight Library

You can access your saved insights from several key locations within the platform:

  • Main Navigation Bar: Click the Global Insight Library icon to Pin to an Existing Storyboard or Generate a New Storyboard.

  • Explore (Charts and Tables): Open the Insight Llibrary via the Folder icon at the top right of the page to load or overwrite existing Explore queries.

  • Explore (Org Chart): Click the Org Chart icon on the navigation bar and then the Folder icon at the top right of the page to retrieve saved organizational structures.

  • Storyboards: Enter Modify Mode (pen icon), click the + icon, and select Open Insight Library to insert saved visualizations directly into a Storyboard.

When you open the Insight Library, it appears as a window with:

  • A left column listing the Categories and Insights you have saved.

  • A right panel where you can preview the selected Insight.

  • Options to Search for, Sort by, and Create New Category.

  • Context‑specific actions at the bottom of the window (for example, Open in Current Page, Insert to Current Page, Pin to Existing Storyboard, and Generate New Storyboard).

The Insight Library is personalised, meaning that the Categories and Insights created are individual to the user. The Insights, however, can be  shared with others via Storyboards.

Global Insight Library in the Main Navigation Bar

You can build and update Storyboards using the global Insight Library icon in the main navigation bar.

When opened from the main navigation bar, the Insight Library supports multi‑select:

  • The left column shows your Categories and Insights with checkboxes.
  • You can:
    • Select individual Insights, or
    • Select an entire Category to include all Insights in that Category.
  • Click the Insight name to preview it in the right panel (this does not change the checkbox selection).

From the Global Insight Library you can:

  • Pin to an Existing Storyboard, or
  • Generate a New Storyboard.
  • Note:  If you are currently modifying a Storyboard and you click the Global Insight Library then the action will be restricted to Insert to Current Page.

To pin Insights to an existing Storyboard:

  • Click the Insight Library icon in the main navigation bar.
  • In the Insight Library window, use the checkboxes in the left column to select one or more Insights (or Categories).
  • Click Pin to an Existing Storyboard.

In the “Pin to an Existing Storyboard” panel:

  • Choose the Storyboard.
  • Choose the Page on that Storyboard.

Choose how you want to finish:

  • Save and go back: Pins the selected Insights to the bottom of the chosen page, one tile per row, and returns you to the Insight Library.
  • Save and go to the Storyboard: Pins the selected Insights to the bottom of the chosen page and then navigates you directly to that Storyboard page.

If you pin Insights to the same Storyboard and page you are currently viewing, the page will reload so you can see the newly added tiles.

To generate a new Storyboard from selected Insights:

  • Click the Insight Library icon in the main navigation bar.
  • Use the checkboxes to select one or more Insights (or Categories).
  • Click Generate a New Storyboard.

  • The Insight Library closes and automatically:
    • Creates a new Storyboard.
    • Names the Storyboard using the title of the first selected Insight.
    • Creates a first page named “Page 1”.
    • Adds a title tile at the top of Page 1:
      • A full‑width text tile with no tile header.
      • Displays the Storyboard name in bold, centre‑aligned text.
    • Inserts all selected Insights as tiles below the title tile.
      • Tiles are placed side‑by‑side across the row until there is no more space, then wrap to the next row.
      • Tiles appear in the same order as they appear in the Insight Library.
