Allocating costs and spend

Allocating cost data for workforce

The One Model calculation engine makes it easy to allocate costs across periods of time. All you need to do is create a data set that shows the amount of cost to allocate, along with the start and end dates of that allocation.

For example, if you spent $10,000 on job advertisements on LinkedIn from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018, One Model can easily allocate that spend on a per day basis across the year.

This becomes very useful when combined with other metrics over periods of time. For example, I can compare what I'm spending on LinkedIn with the number of applications I receive from LinkedIn during that period of time. This yields a Cost Per Application metric that I can use to compare the effectiveness of LinkedIn relative to other sources.

In the following video I cover this functionality in detail, using end of period headcount over time to allocate costs for different segments of the organization. The same logic can be used to allocate other costs as well, like employee salaries.
